The Cotswold Caper
We have been running our Cotswold Caper event annually since 2006.
The idea is to raise money for a local charity by inviting entrants to participate in driving a route, chiefly in Gloucestershire, of around 100 miles.
Money is raised from the entry fee, from adverts from local companies that pay to advertise in our Route Guide and from the raffle held on the day. There are occasional one-off donations as well.
Depending on the size of the venue chosen for the start & finish, there are normally between 100 to 120 entrants. They set off at intervals and follow the route, which is defined by a series of Tulip diagrams specifying where to go at each junction and a distance interval between each diagram. There is normally a half-way stop to allow for refreshments and a toilet break.
The return route is followed back to the starting point where the raffle prizes can be checked for the winning tickets.
Up to 2021 we have held 15 events so far and the event has gone from strength to strength with the result that we have raised over £61,000 for our charities.
